The Florida Bar Exam is a requirement of the Florida Bar application process. Florida Bar Exam Registration occurs on the same portal as the application.

What Is Florida Bar Exam Registration?

In addition to character and fitness clearance from the Florida Board of Bar Examiners, an applicant must pass the Bar Exam in order to be admitted to The Florida Bar.

In order to be able to take the Florida Bar Examination, you must apply to The Florida Bar. Registration for the Florida Bar Exam will be completed as part of the application process. The submission of your bar application must be timed appropriately to take the Bar Exam when desired for the July Bar Exam or the February Bar Exam.

How To Register For The Florida Bar Exam

Registration for the Florida Bar Examination is simple. You register for the Florida State Bar Exam when you apply for admittance to The Florida Bar on the application portal.

When To Register For The Florida Bar Exam | When Should I Apply To The Florida Bar?

Apply to The Florida Bar by mid-November for the February Florida Bar Exam and the beginning of May for the July Florida Bar Exam. If these filing deadlines are not met, you can apply through January 15th for the February exam and June 15th for the July exam, but late fees must be paid.

All required elements of your application (including fingerprints, supporting documents, and applicable fees) must be received by the Board before the final cut-off date to ensure timely registration for your desired exam date.

Early application is strongly encouraged. It is best to get your character and fitness cleared while still a student, which will leave the Bar Exam as your focus upon graduation. At the very latest, law students should apply to the Florida Bar once they have completed all requirements for graduation.
